Texas born native Cassandra Hanks earned her MFA in Visualization at Texas A&M. While an undergrad she cultivated her artistic interests through many film studies classes and traditional photography, later earning a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication Media Studies with a Film Minor.
Once Cassandra entered the realm of graduate school, she studied several different subjects such as traditional art, computer graphics, programming, scuba, lighting and photography. Since then, she has focused her body of work towards creating planetary landscape photography by using organic materials to create synthetic extraterrestrial terrains. Her photography has been shown at the New York Hall of Science in Queens, NY, The Lunar and Planetary Laboratory in Tuscon, AZ, the HEREarts Center in Manhattan, NY, National Museum of Nuclear Science & History Albuquerque, NM and the 2016 Division for Planetary Sciences Conference in Pasadena, CA. Currently, her works are part of the collection at University of Arizona. Cassandra now resides in Los Angeles as an assistant editor for Titmouse Animation.
