Texas-born artist and editor Cassandra Hanks earned her MFA in Visualization from Texas A&M University. While an undergrad she cultivated her artistic interests through many film studies classes and traditional photography, ultimately graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication Media Studies and a Minor in Film.
Once Cassandra entered the realm of graduate school, she studied several different subjects such as traditional art, computer graphics, programming, scuba, lighting and photography. Her body of work eventually evolved into creating planetary landscape photography by using organic materials to create synthetic extraterrestrial terrains. Her photography has been exhibited at venues such as the New York Hall of Science (Queens, NY), The Lunar and Planetary Laboratory (Tuscon, AZ), the HEREarts Center (Manhattan, NY), National Museum of Nuclear Science & History (Albuquerque, NM) and the 2016 Division for Planetary Sciences Conference (Pasadena, CA). Currently, her works are part of the permanent collection at the University of Arizona.
Cassandra now resides in Los Angeles as an assistant editor for Titmouse Animation.
